Violence Prevention Initiative
We do not just tell youth to stop violence — we give them the tools, language, and community to choose peace. Through conflict mediation, emotional regulation, peer leadership, and community healing, we turn at-risk youth into peacekeepers.
Four approaches to peace.
Each program is designed to meet youth where they are — in pain, in conflict, or ready to lead — and guide them toward healing.
Conflict Mediation
Students learn to de-escalate tension, facilitate restorative circles, and resolve disputes before they become violent — using hip-hop narratives of overcoming beef as teaching tools.
Emotional Regulation
Breathwork, mindfulness, and creative outlets (writing, beat-making, visual art) help youth process anger, grief, and trauma in healthy ways.
Peer Leadership
Youth peacekeepers are trained to spot warning signs, support friends in crisis, and model nonviolent conflict resolution in their circles.
Community Healing
Healing events, memorial art projects, and community cyphers create collective spaces for grief, forgiveness, and forward movement.
What participants learn.
Real results. Safer schools.
Reduced Incidents
Schools see measurable decreases in fights, suspensions, and violent altercations.
Increased Awareness
Youth recognize triggers and warning signs before situations escalate.
Better Peer Support
Students know how to talk to friends in crisis and connect them to help.
De-Escalation Skills
Youth can calm themselves and others using proven techniques rooted in their culture.
Trauma Processing
Creative outlets provide safe ways to express and release pain without harm.
Youth-Led Peacekeeping
Graduates form peace councils that sustain a nonviolent school culture.
Peace is a skill. We teach it.
